How do you dress?

When the weather man says...

It can be anywhere from the mid 40's to the mid 70's today.

Really?

Um.... Is that a scientific guess there, Michael Stevens?

I feel like someone who has spent that many years in meteorological school could kind of narrow that down *just a little*. I do realize everything you forecast is basically a meteorological guess based on a weather pattern you are seeing on a screen...

But 40 - 70 degrees??

I can't wait to see what the actual temp gets to today.

I'll keep you posted.... Happy Tuesday!

I "like" when it is 50% chance of rain! so it may rain or may not rain then.

hopefully it started off 40s and then went to 70s...stinks when it is the other way around. lol

It is currently 75 degrees in GR as the locals call it or its map name of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

I had been outside doing yard work in shorts and a long sleeve shirt and then detailing the car as I am going to sell it and just keep my 4 X 4 for now unless a great deal is found on a older muscle car.

Our local forcast on the news was really close to what it is today so I guess maybe our weather guy and yours did not go to the same school ??

I agree with others that dressing in layers works best for me also.

The last few nights I had been going for walks at local parks and layering really helped me stay comfy through the temp changes as it got dark.

Hopefully your next forecast is more accurate.

I always call it GR... But, I did live down there for a year when I was a senior in high school. I picked it up and never lost it....

It warmed up to 59 today, but was overcast all day until it finally poured. You are right, I mentioned it in another comment, it's not abnormal to experience all of the seasons within a 24 hour span in Michigan! LOL

But for daily use ... I step outside and see for myself.
That's usually what I do as well. The only problem is, this time of year is hell on the office temperature. I never know if the heat or air will be running because the temperatures are controlled by our corporate offices which are located in GR. LOL If I want to raise or lower the temps in my office I have to create a support ticket to get it done.

It all really is just kind of a guess. They watch the weather patterns and try to guess what's going to happen. Sometimes they're close.... Sometimes you wonder if they just closed their eyes and spun a wheel for the forecast.

That range probably means that there is a front in the area for which he is forecasting.

Yesterday the high in NE Iowa was about 66F and the high in SW Iowa was 90F. It was cloudy here in NE Iowa and the high 90 miles to the southwest was in the 80's. The 90's high is closer to probably 300 miles away.

So if you were to have a front split the forecast area, it might be a correct forecast.
There was some weather out there today! We had a doozy of a rain / thunder / lightening storm this afternoon. Temps dropped significant after.
